Coronapas
A response to Covid-19

Client: Digitaliseringsstyrelsen
Key Focus: App Design
When the Covid-19 pandemic hit Denmark, officials quickly moved to create safe and simple ways to curb infection rates and handle access to restaurants, cafes, and other public areas. The Coronapas app (Corona Passport) created a digital stamp to indicate that a person had been tested, vaccinated or recently infected, and the solution created much-needed transparency while Denmark worked to safely reopen.

For most Danes, the driver’s license felt like an established relic. However, the Agency for Digital Government wanted to challenge the need for a physical card by launching a digital alternative.
Based on thorough user testing across all demographics, the design borrows elements from the physical predecessor in the final design to create a familiar feel. The Danish driver’s license app, which garnered over 1.000.000 downloads in its first 3 months, has since become the most successful app ever implemented in the public service sector.
